Follow you about…

“It was one of those pictures which are so contrived that the

eyes follow you about when you move.” –1984, George Orwell

Truth is, any image or video will do, as long as the eyes looked into

the camera during recording. As a child you wondered why the tv host

always looked at me whereever i sat in the room, he could see me as

long as i could see him, his eyes were always meeting mine. Moreover,

my parents and siblings had the same experience of him looking into

/their/ eyes. How could he look into everyone’s eyes at the same time?

You know, I still don’t understand it, only that it’s part of the power

of media and mass media especially, they give you their complete

attention. Is it because the image is flat? (What about 3d imagery?)

Since it’s flat /we/ provide the projection of depth and direction.

Can we avoid this projection and look at such an image without the eyes

looking back? Shouldn’t it be possible? I made a video.
